The WPC regulation talks about wireless products such as wireless transmitters, wireless receivers, remote controlled toy helicopters & toy aeroplanes for hobby/recreation/aero-modelling purposes and of use of other wireless equipments in the frequency band of 2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz to Rule 3 of Use of Low Power Equipment in the frequency band 2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz (exemption from Licensing Requirements) Rules 2005.


The Rule says “Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, no license shall be required by any person to establish, maintain, work, possess or deal in any wireless equipment, on non-interference, non-protection and shared (non-exclusive basis), in the frequency band 2.4 GHz with the transmitter power (1 W (30 dBm) in spread of 10 MHz or higher, Effective Radiated Power (4 W (36dBm) and height of antenna (within 5 meters above the rooftop of existing authorized building.
